The Tin Building, the old Fulton Fish Market reborn as a Jean-Georges food hall, runs from morning through late. Pier 17's rooftop hosts concerts through the summer and a skating rink in winter. Come at golden hour for the light on the water and the Brooklyn Bridge in profile.
The walk across takes about half an hour and it never stops being worth it. Go early, before eight, if you want the promenade mostly to yourself. Go at dusk if you'd rather have the skyline lit behind you. The entrance is on Park Row near City Hall.
