The Design

The ground floor at Little Something is a study in scale and proportion. Anchored by lofty double-height ceilings, the lobby is clean and warm, a sanctuary of limestone, warm oak, plush mohair and velvet, it is an inviting space that creates a seamless transition from the bustle of street into the sanctuary of the hotel. Overhead, a mezzanine lounge offers a quiet vantage point, while Wonderful, the lobby bar, anchors the room and invites you to stay for a little something special. There is an effortless ease to the entire floor—a balance of light, proportion and materials are balanced in harmony.

Tucked into the warmth of the lobby, Wonderful is a classic neighborhood bar in a hotel setting—not an afterthought. Designed with the same rich materials and scalloped millwork as the grand room outside, the space feels instantly familiar, catching the changing daylight before settling into an intimate evening glow. Situated at 5 Platt Street, the hotel sits at the intersection of New York’s oldest maritime history and its most dynamic current energy. The neighborhood is a maze of cobblestone streets and hidden corners, tucked away from the midtown grid.
